Newsletter 1301

Welcome to our Newsletter!

Message from our Chairman

Its a little late in January but Happy New Year to all. Welcome to your new Ratoath College Parents Association Newsletter.  We are hoping to distribute the newsletter on a monthly basis following our PA meeting. The idea behind the newsletter is to keep you informed as to what is happening within the college and to update you on developments in terms of the college achievements, student activity, the college extension and also developments regarding the improvements in the curriculum. The biggest project facing the college in the near future is the development of the extension and the prospect of catering for over 1000 students. Your support for this project will be needed if we are to have a successful conclusion. The Parents Association intend to run a major fundraising event in order to have funds available to help out with additional equipment needed that may not be included in the Dept of Education funding allocation.

The Parents Assocciation meet on a monthly basis to discuss ideas raised by parents and also suggestions presented by the board of management and the teachers. We also look forward to your contribution to the newsletter and welcome you to e-mail ( us with your views on your own experiences within the college.

Thank you for your continued support

Positive Parenting - a talk by Shane Martin

The PA has arranged a talk to take place at the school on Thursday 28th February at 7.30pm. Shane's talk will focus on interventions which are scientifically validated and promote positive traits/characteristics in children – traits that will stand them in good stead as they grow older. The talk will mainly examine what makes children happier and resilient. All welcome!
