The committee members of the Ratoath Parents Association meet once a month and our April meeting took place on Tuesday 14th April 2015.
Our next meeting is Tuesday 12th May at 7.30pm in Ratoath College.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT NEW CHAIR APPOINTED
We would like to congratulate and welcome Nuala McLoughlin as she begins her new term as Chairperson on Ratoath College Board of Management.
TENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS FOR RATOATH COLLEGE
This year Ratoath College will celebrate their 10TH Anniversary.
There are plans to celebrate across the year so watch out for more information coming in relation to this.

Clothes For Clobber Fundraising Week
On the week commencing Monday 11th May we will run our Cash for Clobber fundraiser in the school. Please use this opportunity to clear out your old unwanted clothes while raising much needed funds for the school. Students can bring bags into the school each morning from Mon 11th May until Friday 15th May. We will receive €4 for each bag collect so please bring as many bags as you wish. We will take old clothes, shoes, curtains, bed linen (no pillows or duvets). Every bag is worth money so the more the merrier.
DARKNESS INTO LIGHT WALK WITH TY STUDENTS
The TY Students are doing a fundraiser charity walk in aid of Pieta House on Saturday morning 9th May.
We are delighted to run an after walk reception in the Scounts Den for all walkers with tea/ coffee and sausage sambos all sponsored by SuperValu
If you would like to join us please contact us to register. The entry fee is €10 and all monies will go directly to Pieta House.

Well done to all the teachers and students who experienced a very successful trip to China.
Everyone had a wonderful time and the teachers are very proud of all the students who behaved impeccably for the entire trip. Everyone was a real credit to both themselves and the school.
On Thursday 23 April our Community Guard Aisling Connor came to deliver a Drugs Talk for our parents. This was a very informative and insightful talk and the parents who attended found this a very beneficial talk.
We would like to thank Aisling for giving us her time and an expert presentation.
CALENDER OF EVENTS IN RATOATH COLLEGE FOR MAY 2015
Wednesday 20th May – Prize Giving Ceremony.
Thursday 21st May - TY Graduation at 7.30pm,
Friday 22nd May - Classes finish at 12.45pm for 1st/2ND/5th Year students.
Monday 25th May – 6th Year Graduation at 7.00pm.
Wednesday 27th May – 3rd Years finish. Service in School at 2.00pm.
Friday 29th May - 1st, 2nd and 5th Years finish at 12.30pm.
U14 girls GAA
The under 14 girls played two matches last term, against O’Carolan College, Nobber and Maynooth Post Primary School, winning both matches. This takes them through to the next round which is a quarter final against St. VINCENTS, Dundalk.
Meath Championships will take place on Friday and next week will see students go to the North Leinster Championships in Santry.
Ty's completed their handprint project on the corridor in the past few weeks as part of their 21st Century Skill building class.
All Transition Year students are going to Avon Rí, Blessington, Co. Wicklow in May to complete the final stage of their course for the Presidents Gaisce Bronze award.
This has been a huge success over the past few years in Ratoath College with the number of students successfully completing the award increasing each year.
Deborah and Colm are here today to discuss the musical – All Shook Up - with you.
They will discuss the budgeting and fundraising. The musical will take place in OCTOBER 2015
Students recently travelled to China and Italy, having a great time. A fabulous day was had by all in Carlingford.
RE REGISTRATION DEADLINE
If you would like your son or daughter to continue their education in Ratoath College please return the registrations form to the school by Wednesday 13th May 2015.
OUTSTANDING FEE PAYMENTS
Currently the school has outstanding fees of over €40,000 and these need to be cleared in full prior to
the new school payment term which begins on the registration deadline of 13th May 2015.
Due to the continuing Moratorium the school is under severe pressure in the areas of administration, caretaking and cleaning constantly. We appreciate the parents understanding of this especially with the day to day admin management of the school.
Where possible please give advance notice to the school if you wish to take your son or daughter out of school during school times.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Health and safety is of paramount importance at all times when driving into Ratoath College.
We would like to remind you to continue driving slow and with caution when dropping and collecting students each day.
Remember to give way to pedestrians at the zebra crossings and use the parking bays when waiting to collect students.
